My Journey to Finding My Deeper Well

My vision for Holistic Herb Life Coaching is working with women to empower themselves to create their dream life.

Hey there, beautiful soul. I want to share something deeply personal with you—not just to tell my story, but to show you that no matter how heavy life feels, there’s always a way to rise. Twice in my life, I stood at the edge of despair, seriously considering suicide. But each time, I found a thread of hope to pull me back, and I’ve woven those threads into a life of purpose. Let me walk you through it.

By 18, I was tangled in dark thoughts—anger and hate fueling a desire to end my life, partly to hurt those around me. Early signs of OCD, perfectionism, and body dysmorphia crept in. I’d obsess over my skin, picking until it hurt, losing weight unhealthily, neglecting myself under stress’s weight. By 25, anxiety and depression crippled me. I experienced frequent panic attacks at work, home, and even while spending time with loved ones. It felt like a continuous internal struggle, as if I were on the brink of collapsing. Physical symptoms resulting from stress and anxiety led me to believe I had a severe health issue. Depression took hold, and I felt as if I were unraveling. Cycles of not eating and sleeping resulted in significant weight loss, bottoming at just around 98 pounds. I took a short medical leave from work. I was in and out of hospitals with anxiety and depression symptoms. It felt like I was losing everything, including myself, which led me to contemplate suicide once again. Fortunately, I managed to pull myself away from that dark place and soon found myself in front of a psychiatrist for the first time. From my own personal experience and understanding, it is that people don’t really want to end their lives, they just want to end the pain they are in. This initial meeting with a psychiatrist introduced me to anxiety and depression medications. However, the real breakthrough came in therapy, where I was able to craft a new life plan focused on my happiness and health.

Over the course of a year, I created a plan to leave Florida and start anew in New Hampshire. Although it is known that giving yourself a fresh start can be psychologically and emotionally effective, it’s addressing the root issues that will bring the most healing and growth, while in a healthy environment. This new phase exposed underlying issues that I had previously ignored. Stripped of my familiar environment, I confronted my poor coping mechanisms, unhealthy habits, and victim mindset. Alcohol consumption increased to manage stress. Neglected self-care persisted, and anxiety and depression remained a powerful force. This ultimately led to job loss and even interfered with meeting my long-distance boyfriend (now husband). Despite these challenges, I was determined not to let my mental illness control my life. Since this was my first substantial relationship, I sought guidance from a Life Coach to navigate the complexities of a long-distance partnership. When I met my husband, he was educating himself in Mental Health and was on his own healing journey. After seven months of long-distance dating, we decided to live together in North Idaho, where he and his two children (from his first marriage) live. This marked the beginning of true healing.

North Idaho's natural beauty resonated with me, and we started building a life together as a family. I started weightlifting, which has strengthened my body and helped me regain a healthy weight, while prioritizing proper nutrition. Spending time outdoors brought me immense joy, particularly hiking and exploring. I started delving into books and podcasts on Mental Health and Trauma. I wanted to further expand my knowledge of Mental Health, so I went back to school and earned several certifications. I’ve also collaborated with other Life Coaches to address areas in my life where I felt stuck.
